Finance transformation and ERP implementation

The Challenge:

A newly appointed CFO, and a long-standing Addington Ball client from previous FD / CFO roles, required our support with multiple vacancies to facilitate a finance transformation, department re-structure and ERP systems implementation project at the National Head Office in Coventry.

The scale and scope of recruitment was too great for the limited resources of their internal recruitment team. It was therefore essential to appoint a specialist external recruitment partner to work exclusively on this recruitment campaign – in stepped Addington Ball!

The main challenge was the speed of turnaround required and variety of level of individual and experience required. Some positions were ‘backfills’ to cover for individuals working on the ERP project, others were replacements or newly created positions – the full spectrum! In addition, the majority of roles were initially available on an interim fixed term contract basis thus reducing the pool of available candidates to target and source from.   

The Process:

Although we had an existing relationship with the CFO, the business was a new client for Addington Ball. We therefore needed an initial overview of the business itself including an understanding of both the current plans and future business objectives and how this would translate in terms of the career offering to prospective candidates.

We met with the CFO and key hiring managers to discuss and understand the ultimate goal and key requirements for each vacancy. Together, we also agreed the order of priority and commitment to a time schedule including the allocation of the time required by those involved to review CV’s and interview candidates, discussing feedback throughout.  

The Result:

Addington Ball successfully filled every position. On average per role, 5 CV’s were submitted of pre-qualified candidates leading to 4 interviews. Every offer that was made was accepted and every candidate that accepted an offer started in that role and joined the business.
